done with: black biro
worktime: lizard: 30min Kayhour: 15min
motivation: funny thing indeed...I was sketching around in the train on my way home and started to doodle a biped riding beast....I liked the look...after three different sketches I left the design alone. The next day on my way to work I started a lizard warrior out of nothing ( u know, sometimes u just have this urge to draw something and u donīt know why)...end of the story, I thought...lol...
back again on my way home later that day, I made a last try on the lizard....and out of nothing the Kayhour (as I named it) just positioned itself behind the lizard...tztztz inobedient brat.
The Lizardtribe is a very nature-bound race, and he may not look like it, but theyīre very mild -tempered and benevolent. They believe in hte old spirits of the earth. This is why warriors carry a dream-catcher-like mount on their backs. Attached to this are bones of their antedecessors (spelling?). The dreamcatcher is supposed to help the warrior (if he falls in battle) to concentrate his Chi to find his way back to the soulpool of earth...or something like that...man itīs just a quick sketch I made, why think so much of it? ;)

Cool! The steed is awesome, and so is the lizard dude. Both are very well drawn. :D

I like the pose. Dynamic poses really do bring out the life in any picture. I think also why this pic stands out is because you did all the scales. :)

fear is nothing. In a world of nothing, fear does not exist. This is the world that all life desires.

I llike your stories behind the art. The muslces on the Kayhour look really cool, reminds me of a Ton Ton, also it's reminding me again of the Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone Fighting Fantasy books. Maybe you should consider a Fantasy comic as well as AVP?

First design of the steed wa a four horned dragon like biped....Iwanted togo away form the dragon shape and yes....the Taun Taun-influence (at least the horns) is there. The first sketch was meant to be the riding beast of an elvish tribe..
